Requires Nyko Playground Version 2.1.0
Won't work if you update the app or the pad firmware through the new version of Playground (read more)
You can now use the triggers (L2 & R2) on your PlayPad Pro and add a select button (not back) on both pads, which comes in useful for emulators, and games like Max Payne Mobile (save state) and GTA 3 (change view).
You can reprogram the entire controller to whatever you like, or just make the triggers and select key work.
Here's how:
The only 'tool' you need is Nyko's Playground App.
1. Make sure Bluetooth is off, then start Playground app
3. Tap "OK"
4. Tap "skip"
5. Tap "advanced mode" in the top right corner
6. Tap "proceed"
7. Hold home button on pad until HID light switches on (make sure HID mode is on)
8. Tap "OK"
9. Tap "new profile"
10. Select "empty profile" or gamepad profile"
11. Map keys to whatever button, save and name profile
(make sure to add L3 & R3 on Pro pads and Select on both pads)
12. Tap "REPROGRAM"
13. Tap "OK", exit Playground app and switch Bluetooth and Pad off, then go to
Bluetooth settings
14. Switch Bluetooth on and Pad on in APP mode
15. Tap "SEARCH FOR DEVICES"
then tap on "NYKO PLAYPAD" or "NYKO PLAYPAD PRO"
That's it. Now you have a fully functioning controller.
Notes:
Make sure you switch Bluetooth and your PlayPad off every time before you try to connect in APP or HID mode. Sometimes it takes a few tries to connect.
HID mode will remain the same, reprogramming only affects the PlayPad in APP mode.
